How to Connect

Pairing your phone to any Android TV

Benefits

Why people switch from their stock remote

One app, any brand

Unlike remote apps built for a single manufacturer, RemoteWave for Android TV works the same way whether your TV is a Sony, TCL, Hisense, or something else entirely.

Never lose it in the couch again

Your phone is already always within reach — it doubles as your remote without a second device to misplace.

Type instead of click‑by‑click entry

Entering emails and passwords with arrow keys is slow. A real keyboard makes login screens painless.

No extra hardware or dongles

RemoteWave works entirely over Wi‑Fi you already have — nothing new to buy or plug in.

Setup Instructions

First-time setup, step by step

1. Grant permissions

When prompted, allow RemoteWave to access your local network — this is how it finds your Android TV.

2. Confirm your network

Check that your phone's Wi‑Fi matches the network your TV is connected to under its network settings.

3. Scan for devices

RemoteWave lists every compatible Android TV device found on the network within a few seconds, regardless of brand.

4. Pair & save

Confirm the on-screen code once — RemoteWave remembers the device for future sessions.

Troubleshooting

Common connection issues, solved

App can't find my TV

Confirm both devices share the same Wi‑Fi network and that it isn't a guest network with client isolation enabled. Restarting your router's Wi‑Fi and reopening the app resolves most cases.

The remote keeps disconnecting

Weak Wi‑Fi signal near the TV is the most common cause. Moving your router closer or using a Wi‑Fi extender near the TV usually fixes intermittent drops.

My TV brand isn't listed

If your TV runs Android TV OS, RemoteWave should still find it even if the exact brand isn't listed above — Android TV's discovery protocol works the same way across manufacturers.

Keyboard input doesn't reach the TV

Make sure the text field is actively focused on the TV screen before typing — tap it once with the D‑pad to select it first.
