Local network information
To find and control your Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, or Fire TV Edition smart TV, the App requests local network access on your phone. This lets the App scan your Wi‑Fi network for compatible Fire TV devices and send remote-control commands — navigation, playback, and app launching — directly to your device. This communication happens locally between your phone and your Fire TV device — it is not routed through our servers.
Device and usage information
We may collect basic technical information such as device model, operating system version, App version, and crash or performance diagnostics. This helps us fix bugs and keep the App compatible with Fire OS updates.
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the App's remote-control, app-launching, and playback features.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve compatibility with Fire TV devices.
